Long-tailed Field Mouse

When I went to measure the weekly rainfall on the reserve, I opened the wooden box containing the measuring gauge and to my surprise, there was a Field Mouse which when I opened the box, ran into the measuring tube.

It had also made a nest in the box where we keep the measuring gauge and after I released it from the tube, it disappeared into the nest.

  1. They are common, but mostly nocturnal, not often seen (unless they move into your house of course!).
