Loft conversion week 2

The temperature during the last few days has been at or just below freezing, making working conditions in the loft a little more pleasant.  As more of the loft is insulated, this also helps to improve the working temperature.

This is how it is looking now

I had planned to have the work completed by Christmas, but as you can see, it’s just not going to happen.

Because there are ventilation pipes and cables that run behind the new walls, I have to put in an access hole in each wall.  I will build a cupboard on each side of the room and the back of each cupboard will be the access hole.

We will see how much more is completed during the next week.

  1. Wow you have been busy! I cannot imagine how the previous owners lived there with so little ibsulation. Great idea to increase the widths of the beams etc. you really are a hard worker. I wish you and your family a really happy festive season from us in France.

    • Looks like we email with the same person. He sure has a beautiful place. Sure wished my wife and I could live a life like that. Have a Merry Christmas.

  2. It looks great. Sure sounds like it’s cold up there. Here in Pa. we are having a heat spell for christmas. It going to be 70 degrees on Christmas Eve. Looks like we will not be making any snow men. Merry Christmas,
